Tip : Use Resistance & Weight When Training Your Abs/Core

A big mistake most people make when training abs/core is that they do way too many reps.  You can read more about this HERE.

Along with doing way too many reps, we often see people always using only body weight for core training.  Why?  Why not add resistance?  A lot of people believe that if you use weight with your core exercises it will make your waist thick or blocky or some foolishness like that.  This is not true.

Yes, using weight will always make a muscle a bit thicker, but you don’t see this happen in the real world.   Start adding weight to your core training.

Use resistance bands, do weighted planks, there are tons of great ways to add resistance to your core training.

If your waist is big the #1 reason is because you are carrying too much body fat.

Some of my favorite weighted/resistance ab/core exercises are

- Weighted Planks

- Resistance Band Planks

- Paloff Holds

- Weighted Carries

Ab Fix : Train your abs like the rest of your muscles. Use weight and resistance to get them stronger. Stop wasting your time on high reps, use weights, use bands, learn to create tension and stop wasting your time with high reps chasing the burn.
